Artificial intelligence is transforming the business valuation profession. Platforms now produce valuation reports in minutes that once required weeks of professional effort. While these tools offer significant benefits in speed, consistency, and accessibility, they also introduce risks that existing professional standards were not designed to address.
NAVIS exists to fill that gap. We develop standards that govern how AI-assisted valuation platforms operate — covering methodology selection, independent model validation, audit chains, schema validation, and report formatting. Our standards ensure that AI-assisted valuations are transparent, reproducible, and defensible.
NAVIS is not a regulatory body, an appraisal firm, or a trade association. We do not perform valuations, endorse specific platforms, or compete with existing professional organizations. We are an independent standards body focused exclusively on the intersection of artificial intelligence and business valuation.
The NAVIS Computational Valuation Standard (NAVIS CVS) establishes the minimum requirements for AI-assisted Calculation of Value engagements. It covers methodology selection, independent model validation, audit chain integrity, schema validation, and report formatting. The NAVIS CVS is designed to be complementary to SSVS and serves as the definitive standard for AI-native valuation platforms.
